Beech hedges are extremely popular & provide a dense hedge, which is easily maintained & can be grown to virtually any height, The green leaves appear on fine stems & so give a softer finish to the hedge, Trim in late summer to early autumn, Though a deciduous plant it will keep many dry, crispy leaves until spring when new ones appear, in exposed areas the hedge will become bare, Fairly fast growing at 30 -50cm a year, You will receive 18 plants growing in 9cm pots., We recommend single spaced plant of 20cm apart to form a hedge of approx 3.5m, These are well rooted & depending on the time of year may not have any leaf on or may be just starting to appear.
