Tifosi are always recommended in the mid-level price range as they use the same standards of performance design and high tech materials that you find in the more expensive brands, but at a much more realistic cost as they don't plough as much money into high profile sponsorship deals, but reign that in and rely on their reputation and word of mouth to keep the sales coming in. Perhaps that's why they have become the top selling brand of cycling eyewear in the USA, and are now really starting to get noticed here in the UK.
The Tyrant is a great showcase for Tifosi cutting edge design, with vented, interchangeable lenses, adjustable, no-slip nose and temple pieces and an aero-inspired frame profile, outperforming the big brand names by matching their
performance at a much lower price. The red and gloss black versions of the Tifosi Tyrant come with clear lenses for night riding, All Conditions Red lenses for dull, overcast days and Smoke + Red Glare Guard lenses to make sunny days easier on the eye. For some reason the Matt Black version has a different sunny weather lens in the form of the Smoke colour, which is a grey colour. The other two lenses are the same AC Red and Clear, so it's just the grey smoke lens instead of the smoke + red glare. Maybe makes them more versatile for off the bike wear, as you might prefer a more traditional looking lens in some circumstances.
