Cateye EL320 With a single 1watt LED powered by four AA batteries (included), the EL320 is a simple & compact unit that offers up a nice balance between enough light to see where you're going & a good amount of visibility. As with a lot of LED lights, the brightness at obtuse angles isn't as good as some filament units, but the addition of two little 'peep holes' on the reflector unit helps a little for sideways light spill (handy for junction & roundabout visibility). There's no denying that this is a nice light in terms of striking a balance between seeing & being seen. The mounting is a simple-to-use band that's also at home on wing-shaped bars (so long as you have the wing part fl at on your bars). As is typical for every Cateye light we've ever tested, it burned way longer than they claimed, with nearly 24 hours on full power from four fresh AAs. Speaking of batteries, there's also a handy push button under the unit for removing them, & it's not until you have to change them that you realise how great this simple feature is. ...
