Product Description

Although they belong to the same chemical family, there are some differences between chlorine & bromine. When you dissolve the Fi-Clor Spa Chlorine Granules in your spa they produce hypochlorous acid; this is the active compound that will kill the bacteria & other unwanted pollution introduced into your spa. The dose rate is 2gms per m 3 (220gall) to increase the free chlorine 1mg/l (ppm). Maintain the level at 2-5mg/l (ppm). See pack for full details. As the chlorine does its job killing the bacteria it can form other compounds called combined chlorine (chloramines). These compounds have no killing power & are, in fact, a nuisance. They need to be removed by periodically shock dosing the pool with Fi-Clor Spa Non-Chlorine Shock. Finally, the chlorine level could be decomposed by sunlight in outdoor spas, but to prevent this there is a stabiliser called cyanuric acid built into Fi-Clor Spa Chlorine Granules.
