Product Description

The work of Louise Mc Naught takes its inspiration form the natural world: elevating the status of animals to the majestic & sublime, Mc Naught’s work offers a powerful comment on humanity’s environmental impact, raising awareness of endangered species through her profoundly symbolic ‘drip’ motif. A soft-beige background frames the detailed portrait of an African Lion, as intense, yellow eyes stare gently from the soft, feline face. Mc Naught employs her signature bleed motif
- ribbons of thin, fluid pigment, coursing in upward drips from the lion’s mane
- to imply a symbolic, visual ebbing away: a powerful statement on the lion’s endangered status & the vulnerability of this mighty beast.
