As I Opened Fire was originally painted by Roy Lichtenstein in 1964 & is owned by the Stedelyk Museum in Amsterdam. Although this print is an open edition (not limited to a set number), it has not been published in as great a quantility as some of his other works, it has therefore become a more collectable piece. As I Opened Fire is always sold as a triptych (i.e. three separate prints sold as one). It is a superb example of Lichtenstein's comic strip style which made him one of the leading figures of the 1960's Pop Art Movement.
