The Syn Mats do not reach the insulating properties of our Down Mats but offer the same comfort, low weight & compact packed size. They come at a lower price point as synthetic fiber is less expensive than the goose down found in our Down Mats. The weight to warmth ratio is far superior to standard foam filled sleeping mats. * Both low profile valves (pat. pend) one for inflation & the other for deflation ensure ease of use. As the valves are flat & not on the mat's edge they do not protrude & are therefore protected & durable. * Welded baffles between the microfiber filled chambers, unlike traditional airmats, eliminate cold spots & create a comfortably supportive & stable air cushion. * Laminated polyester fabric is both durable, airtight & humidity resistant. With an R-value of 3.8, the Exped Syn Mat Lite 5 sleeping pad & its warm microfiber insulation & lightweight packability allow even ounce-counting backpackers to enjoy confident comfort for 3+ season use.
