The compressor of Aerosus is suitable for the air suspension of all BMW 7 Series F01 models produced from 2008 until 2012. In addition, it can also be easily installed in the long version, designated as F02, in the hybrid variant, designated as F03, & also in the armoured model of this 7 Series, designated as F04. In July 2012, the BMW 7 Series F01 received a facelift & the additional designation LCI. The compressors of the suspension were also revised in the course of this facelift. The Compressor / Air Supply Unit is supplied with the 5-PIN power relay, the intake manifold, the electrical connector & the Voss compressed air connection. You will find the relay in the spare wheel well in the boot, on the right side, at position K1 of your vehicle. The compressor is located in the middle position under the rear of the bumper.
Instructions for Installation of Our Compressor / Air Supply Unit
Thanks to its modular design, the compressor can be divided into three main elements. This type of design makes the compressor robust & less prone to failure. The three components are the pressure housing, which is used for air compression, the electric motor, which provides the power drive of the compressor, & the air dryer unit, which dehumidifies the ambient air before it's fed to the compressed air system. If you don't want the installation & assembly of the compressor to be performed by a garage & want to fix the problem yourself, you should pay attention to an important note when installing. Before installing the Aerosus air suspension compressor, be sure to check the entire system for leaks &, if necessary, eliminate them. If only one air spring is leaking, this will eventually result in another compressor failure. Furthermore, the supplied power relay must be replaced each time the compressor is changed. If the vehicle lowers overnight on the rear axle, then the level control is defective.
Reasons for a Compressor Malfunction
Although compressors are considered to be extremely robust, they can eventually cease to provide the required amount of pressure. Therefore, it must be removed & replaced. The wear of an original BMW compressor can be significantly accelerated, particularly when there is a leak in the air suspension system or the level control has failed. A defect in the air suspension can be identified by the following
Features: the compressor runs too long, the vehicle lowers unilaterally at the back & is crooked or the level control doesn't pump up.
