The Müenzenrieder estate lies in the Neusiedlersee/ Seewinkel National Park in the eastern reaches of Austria, near the market town of Apetlon. This is an area dotted with lakes, salt marshes & wide open plains. Through natural cultivation methods, rigorous sorting of fruit at harvest time & great care in the cellar, winegrowers Johann & Johannes Müenzenrieder produce wines which have real character, which is what caught our attention when we first tasted them. This is 100% Zweigelt, Austria's most important red grape variety. It features pronounced cherry & gingerbread flavours. Its juicy & fresh on the palate with defined tannins & good length.
