Bodega y Viñedos O. Fournier owns three estates some 15 km from the Andes Range, covering 286 ha. A total of 94 are currently planted with vines, some of which are over 30 years old. The name of the "B Crux" wine is based on the stars of the Southern Cross. This constellation is only visible in the Austral Hemisphere. The characterisation of the ostrich on the label symbolises the joining of the earth & the sky. The Argentinean Mocovi Indians captured this through paintings in the caves they inhabited & through different legends that were passed from generation to generation. Bodega y Viñedos O. Fournier create "B Crux", by ageing the wine in oak barrels, 50 per cent new & 50 per cent second year, for 12 months & in bottles for a minimum of six months. This gives this Sauvignon a depth of flavour that is unusual for this variety.
