Product Description

The Rossignols have had vineyards in Volnay since the 16th century, & the Trapets in Gevrey since the 18th century, so brothers Nicholas & David Rossignol have a bit of history on their side. In 1997, they took their first step towards organic viticulture, & since 2007, have been granted full certification. Their wines have never tasted better, & these two incredible enthusiasts reckon that they have achieved everything they wanted to from the great 09 vintage. Our visit was the last of the day, & Nicholas was having to juggle family commitments with his ever-enthusiastic pipette
- whilst waxing lyrical on the 09s & lecturing us on the role that the monks played in the history of Burgundy! Our sensory abilities reached over-load &8211; but my notes are full of praise for the Rossignols&8217; supreme efforts in 2009.
