In the 1950s, pioneering non-conformist Loire vigneron Charles Joguet determined that grapes from varying vineyards should be vinified separately to maximise expression of terroir & preserve fruit vibrancy. This youthful wine, made from the fruit of 15-year-old vines in Chinon (an appellation devoted to the Cabernet Franc grape) offers a wonderful combination of earthy vigour & ripe, juicy raspberry & redcurrant flavours. Ideal with delicatessen meats.
