The international sports brand Adidas was founded Germany in 1948. After creating sports shoes in his mother's kitchen, Adolph Dassler persuaded the US sprinter Jesse Owens, to wear them during the 1936 Olympic Games. After winning four gold medals, Dassler's sports shoes became a must have for many professional sportsmen hoping to emulate Owen’s success. Adidas shoes are well known by their distinctive three parallel bars logo which features on all their products. Today the brand make trainers, tracksuits, swimwear, and sporting equipment, and are associated with numerous sports all over the world. They have some huge sponsorship deals with premiership football teams, tennis players, cricketers, basketball players, rugby players and baseball teams. Adidas are probably one of the most well-known sporting brands in the world and are at the forefront of cutting edge product and clothing design.
