Enjoy a truly royal day out with a visit to the State Rooms, Buckingham Palace, only open to the public 10 weeks a year, followed by a delicious afternoon tea at the Amba Hotel Charing Cross. Buckingham Palace is both the office & London residence of Her Majesty The Queen. It is one of the few remaining working palaces in the world today & you can enjoy the magnificent State Rooms while the Palace is not in official use. The Queen & members of the Royal Family use the State Rooms extensively to receive & entertain guests on state, ceremonial & official occasions. Filled with sparkling chandeliers, exquisite works of art & some of the finest English & French furniture in the world, the State Rooms are truly spectacular. You & your guest will be able to explore all 19 State Rooms, including the Picture Gallery that displays paintings by Titian, Rembrandt, Rubens & Van Dyck. You will also see the famous Throne Room where The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge’s formal wedding photographs were taken. Your visit will include Queen Victoria’s Palace, a special exhibition to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Queen Victoria’s birth. The exhibition will tell the story of how the young queen transformed Buckingham Palace from a private house into a working royal residence. Together with Prince Albert, she made Buckingham Palace a rallying point for the nation, a powerful symbol of the British Monarchy, & a family home for their nine children. You will then take a short stroll to enjoy your afternoon tea at The Amba Hotel which will include a selection of sandwiches, cakes, scones with clotted cream & jam, accompanied by a choice of herbal or leaf teas or speciality coffees. Please note, this experience must be booked & taken before 1st October 2019.
