On Happiness Road is both a bittersweet love letter to Taiwan & an intimate yet universal story about growing up, looking back & forging forward on the bumpy road of life.

Lin Shu Chi (voiced by Guey Lun Mei) was born in Taiwan, on April 5, 1975, the same day that Chiang Kai-shek passed way. As a child, she lived on Happiness Road & dreamed of changing the world. After she grew up, she didnt change the world but her dream would eventually take her far from home to the U.S. Years later, she returns to Taipei upon news of her grandmothers death, & reflects on how people & places have changed & not changed over the years.
