Born into a wealthy family, Apple Fa Ping (Priscilla Wong) should have it all. Unfortunately, shes a bit lacking in the looks department & thus has to endure the taunts & teases of her peers. This all changes when she gets into an accident & goes through reconstructive surgery as part of her treatment. After emerging from the hospital, she devotes herself to maintaining her newfound beauty. Strange as it may seem for someone like her, Apple decides to become a police officer. Upon receiving her first undercover assignment, shes told that she & a male officer will pose as husband & wife to investigate a suspected loan shark who operates out of an apartment building & may have victimized some housewives who live in the same place. To her horror, though, Apple discovers that her partner in the operation is none other than her former high school crush Law Dai Shu (Edwin Siu), who once insulted her looks.
