Rough-talking, soft-hearted former fisherman Man Sik (Sol Kyung Gu) runs a seafood joint by the sea, & watches out for Yeon Hee (Ha Ji Won) who struggles to run a restaurant by herself. They share a bond beyond friendship, but Man Sik cant seem to confess his feelings, or tell Yeon Hee the truth about her fathers death at sea years ago. Man Siks earnest lifeguard brother Hyung Sik (Lee Min Ki) has fallen for a sassy girl (Kang Ye Won) from Seoul. Meanwhile, in another part of Korea alarmed geologist Kim Hee (Park Joong Hoon) discovers that a mega-tsunami is heading for the peninsula. With the authorities refusing to listen, he rushes to Haeundae where his estranged ex-wife Yu Jin (Uhm Jung Hwa) & daughter (Kim Yoo Jung) are, but its already too late to escape...
