...Directed by Kim Hyun Seok ( Cyrano Agency), Cest Si Bon is inspired by the life, times & irresistible music of legendary folk duo Twin Folio. The blockbuster nostalgic musical drama follows the rise of the group, reimagined as a trio in the film, & the romantic sounds & bustle of the late sixties & early seventies at the famed Cest Si Bon Music Hall. Rising stars Jung Woo ( Answer Me 1994), Kang Ha Neul ( Twenty) & Jo Bok Rae play the three musicians in their young formative years, while Kim Yoon Seok ( Haemoo) looks back as the hero twenty years later. Han Hyo Ju ( Cold Eyes), Kim Hee Ae ( Thread of Lies), Jin Gu ( The Admiral: Roaring Currents), Jang Hyun Sung ( Hwayi: A Monster Boy), Kim In Kwon ( The Divine Move) & Kim Jae Wook ( Antique) also co-star in Cest Si Bon. The cast themselves perform the many nostalgic Korean & English folk songs in the film that bring audiences back to yesteryear.
At the Cest Si Bon Music Hall that every folk band aspires to play at, country boy Geun Tae (Jung Woo) meets fellow young musicians Hyung Joo (Kang Ha Neul) & Chang Sik (Jo Bok Rae). Both friends & rivals, the three team up to form the Cest Si Bon Trio & create music that will come to define a generation. Aspiring actress Ja Young (Han Hyo Ju) waltzes into the hall & their lives, becoming their muse & the object of their affections. Just as the trios music takes off, so too does Ja Youngs acting career, bringing great changes to her relationship with Geun Tae & to their music.
