On a snowy Christmas morning in 1990, Fujino Ryoko (Fujino Ryoko) returns to school early & finds the body of classmate Kashiwagi buried in the snow. The case is initially dismissed as a suicide, but Ryoko receives an anonymous letter sent by fellow classmate Miyake Juri & her best friend Matsuko accusing that a group of school bullies led by Oide Shunji threw Kashiwagi off the school roof. The unproven accusation leads to a storm of rumors as the school & the police try to cover up the existence of the letter. Tired of the accusations & lies from both the school & the media, Ryoko & her classmates decide to find out the truth once & for all by putting Oide on a mock trial in front of the entire school body.
