Wong Kar Wai produces novelist Zhang Jiajias directorial debut See You Tomorrow, based on a story from his own book Passing From Your World. Tony Leung Chiu Wai & Takeshi Kaneshiro team up once again in their long overdue return to comedy. Adding to the star power are Angelababy ( Rise of the Legend), Eason Chan ( Office), Lynn Xiong ( Ip Man), Du Juan ( American Dreams in China) & Sandrine Pinna (A Touch of Light), plus cameo appearances by Lu Han ( The Great Wall) & Chris Lee ( Bodyguards & Assassins). Sprinkled with offbeat details, wacky set pieces & hilarious references, See You Tomorrow has the zany humor of an old-school Hong Kong comedy & the dazzling production values of a Jet Tone film, what with Peter Pau & Cao Yu on cinematography & WKW regulars Alfred Yau & William Chang on art direction & costume design. Besides the sumptuous visuals, the films episodic structure & use of voiceover narration are also reminiscent of Wong Kar Wai works.
Chen Mo (Tony Leung) runs a bar with his quirky friend Guan Chun (Takeshi Kaneshiro), but more importantly, hes a "e;ferryman"e; who helps clients navigate the pain of heartbreak. Neighbor Xiao Yu (Angelababy) seeks his guidance on how to help her idol Ma Li (Eason Chan), a singer reeling from his breakup with Jiang Jie (Lynn Xiong). At the same time, Guan Chuns first love, amnesiac pie shop owner Mao Mao (Sandrine Pinna), suddenly returns to town with no memory of him or the family recipe. While Guan Chun goes to ridiculous lengths to help Mao Mao, Chen Mo takes Xiao Yu under his wing, but the process awakens the memories of his own past love.
