From the director of Sungkyunkwan Scandal, Mnet/tv N series Monstar offers a music-themed look at high school that endearingly captures the friendship, romance, rivalries, dreams, insecurities & awkwardness of youth. BEASTs Yong Jun Hyung makes his acting debut in the leading role of Yoon Seol Chan, the lead vocalist of the top boy band Men in Black. After causing trouble with his bad temper, the misunderstood hero is placed on probation & sent back to school, where he meets a quirky girl (breakout newcomer actress Ha Yeon Soo) who crushes his ego & flutters his heart. Together with a ragtag group of fellow misfits & outcasts, they form the underdog school band Color Bar & gradually open up to friendship & the changes & challenges of adolescence.

Up-&-coming actor Kang Ha Neul ( Heirs), GLAMs Da Hee, Kim Min Young, Park Kyu Sun & Kang Eui Sik make up the rest of Color Bar, while Lee Hee Jin ( Medical Top Team) & Ahn Nae Sang ( Sungkyunkwan Scandal) co-star as their reluctant mentors. Monstar also features cameo appearances from After Schools Joo Yeon, Thai singer Natthew, No Min Woo, 4 Minutes Ji Hyun, as well as BTOB members Lee Min Hyuk, Im Hyun Sik, Lee Chang Sub & Yook Sung Jae who play Seol Chans Men in Black bandmates.
