Yun Fang (Anita Yuen) is a courtesan in Shanghai, extremely popular among influential men. But she only has eyes for female nightclub singer Wubao (Angelica Lee), whom musician San Lang (Tou Chung Hua) also finds attractive. When the Civil War breaks out in China, Yun Fang moves to Taiwan.
