- Into the Fire, director John H. Lee crafts another Korean War blockbuster with Operation Chromite, this time based on the Battle of Incheon in 1950. Paying homage to the hidden heroes who played a decisive role in South Koreas victory, the war drama follows eight soldiers who spied on North Korea. Hollywood actor Liam Neeson stars as American general Douglas Mac Arthur, the mastermind of the top-secret Operation Chromite. Lee Jung Jae ( Assassination) portrays a South Korean spy unit leader & Lee Bum Soo ( The City of Violence) plays the enemy colonel controlling North Korean troops in Incheon.
In 1950, North Korean forces have invaded most of South Korea including Incheon. A U.S.-led UN coalition comes to aid South Korea, with General Douglas Mac Arthur (Liam Neeson) planning to mount an all-out attack in Incheon despite the objection of other military leaders. Mac Arthur launches a spy operation known as "e;X-Ray"e; to collect tactical intelligence from the enemies occupying Incheon. Led by navy captain Jang Hak Soo (Lee Jung Jae), the eight-man spy unit infiltrates the North Korean army command center, but the centers commander Lim Gye Jin (Lee Bum Soo) soon becomes suspicious of their motives.
