Aged in oak for 12 months & in bottle for 2 years, this velvety wine is striking dark red in colour with a violet rim. The complex nose is spicy with caramel & fruit notes. In order to be classified as a reserva, red wines must have been aged in cask & bottle for a minimum of three years, of which a minimum of one year must be in oak cask. White & ros wines must be aged for two years, with a minimum of six months in cask. For the Gran Reserva title, red wine must be at least five years old before release, having spent two years in wood & three in bottle. White & ros wines should be aged for at least four years, with at least six months in cask. Many wines that are labelled Reserva or Gran Reserva have been aged far more than the legal minimum.
