Here is a multiple medal-winning cuve from one of Argentina's greatest producers. The wine is a 50/50 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon & Cabernet Franc. The two grape varieties come from two different terroirs Cabernet Sauvignon is from the Pedernal Valley situated at 1350m of altitude, & the Cabernet Franc is produced in the Tulum Valley at 650m of altitude. The result is sublime. The nose bursts with black & red fruits, liquorice & a hint of spice. The wine is balanced by a wonderful freshness on the palate. Elegant & long on the finish, this is a great success for Finca Las Moras. The cuve has also been critically acclaimed, winning medals at the Korean Wine Challenge 2008 & at the Argentina Wine Awards 2008. More on the Bodega...stunning, original & sublime
- three words which summarise the success story of Las Moras. This fantastic bodega has enjoyed much international success & acclaim, notably from Robert Parker, Decanter & IWSC. The Estate has also won Best Argentinian Producer of the Year twice! The Estate Las Moras, meaning the blackberries, is surrounded by blackberry bushes. It is a sign the harvest will be good when the bushes grow healthily & quickly! The Estate will soon be certified organic, as the exceptional conditions of the Tulum Valley (at 650m altitude) mean that the use of phytosanitary products must be limited. The Estate enjoyed a new lease of life when internationally-renowned winemaker Daniel Ekkert joined & transformed the vineyard in 2002, having finished producing one of the greatest sauvignons in the world from the Languedoc region of South West France. Jos Escriva, the other in-house winemaker, explains that good results come from wanting to succeed at every task undertaken by the Estate. Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2008 At this wine show, 223 different wines from 65 Bodegas were tasted by a team of professionals. Bodega Las Moras was awarded the greatest number of medals. The greatest accolade was for the Mora Negra, which was awarded Best Wine in Argentina. For more information, please visit: Las Moras.
