- Multi-Purpose Cable Inlet, 4-Link System, & their Gravity Casting Interface (GCI). Front end suspension is taken care of thanks to the fitted Fox 36 Talas forks. These provide you with huge 180mm of travel. Great for soaking up those front-end hits as you hurtle down the trails. Due to the nature of these G2 XDURO bikes, they come fitted without a chainset as such. The crank arms are fitted to the Bosch Drive Unit & the chain wrapping around a small 16 tooth chainring (The Hive, Exalite). A secondary smaller chain wheel is also fitted just above the slightly larger one & produces Haibikes unique Sprocket Equalising System (S.E.S.) The Sprocket Equalising System (S.E.S.): The new Bosch motor offers, instead of the usual large chainring (s), a very small sprocket (16 tooth) that whirls 2.5 times faster than the crank revolution. This has several big advantages where ground clearance, weight & motor performance are concerned & gives the frame developers more opportunities for further frame enhancements. The small sprocket is not compatible with a standard frame chassis, as the chain line produces too much pedal kick-back on otherwise normal pivot points. Instead of positioning the pivot points deeper, which would make the bike longer & more unmanageable, Haibike developers have found, with the Haibike Sprocket Equalising System, an easy yet effective way to have a responsive & agile chassis on an ebike. In this concept a pulley wheel links the chain around the pivot point, which has been placed higher up. Together with the considered position of the pivots on the four bar rear suspension platform, Haibike have come up with a very finely tuned chassis, that in-spite of the small size of the sprocket doesnt have any obvious effect on the chain. This perfect combination & a good, efficient chassis are vital for an ebike. Shifting & Braking: With the shifting controlled via the Shimano SLX Rapidfire shifters & Shimanos SLX rear derailleur, you have 10 gears of choice
- cassette being a SRAM PG1030 11-36 cluster. Braking is controlled by Shimanos SLX hydraulic disc brakes & provides awesome stopping power in wet, dry and/or muddy conditions. Just what you need when speeding down a trail & coming into a burn or a steeper descent when speed has to be controlled. The pads inturn then clamp around a pair of rotors that include a 200mm at the front & a 180mm at the rear. Wheelset & the Finishing Kit: Running over the terrain you steer this beast over are a pair of DT Swiss E1900 Spline 26" wheels. These come fitted with a pair of Schwalbe Hans Dampf folding 26x 2.35 tyres provide excellent grip & traction. The traditional 26" wheel size is most convincing in the areas of manoeuvrability & weight. Stability & durability are also enhanced due to smaller & more narrowly placed spokes. Above all, when it comes to level entry bikes or freeride or downhill riding, this wheel size still stays very popular. Finally the finishing kit (bars, stem, saddle & seat post) are a mix of Gravity Lite, XLC, & Crank Brothers. The seat post is thanks to Crank Brothers & their remote 31.6mm Kronolog post, which has a Selle San Marco Concor saddle topping it off. The grips are XLC Sport lock-ons with the bars & stem coming from Gravity & their lite range.
