Founded in 1978 for dancers between 17 & 23, Nederlands Dans Theater 2 is one of the worlds most popular contemporary dance groups. After wowing Sadlers Wells audiences with their performances here in 2010 to celebrate NDTs 50th anniversary, they are back to present an exciting mixed bill including Jiri Kylians award-winning Gods & Dogs, & NDT2 Associate Artist Alexander Ekmans Cacti. Gods & Dogs is Jiri Kylians 100th choreography for Nederlands Dans Theater. First performed in 2008 it has been described as a work of rare beauty (Dance Europe) that explores the border between sanity & insanity. At just 26 years old, Alexander Ekman is a big name on the European dance scene
- his works are known for their clever ideas, fast-paced choreography & dry wit. A former dancer with NDT2 & Cullberg Ballet, he is now a highly-regarded choreographer. The final work in the triple bill will be Paul Lightfoots Passe-Partout.
