It is also effective in controlling the symptoms of IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) helping the body to restore its natural rhythm & prevent the intestine from working too fast, this causes diarrhoea to occur. How Does Imodium Work Imodium capsules contain the active ingredient Loperamide. Loperamide helps to calm down the digestive system & restore its natural balance, alleviating the unpleasant symptoms, helping the stools to get back to its normal state & frequency. How To Use Imodium Capsules Adults & Children over 12: Take two capsules then if required, take a further 1 capsule after each loose bowel movement. Take no more than 8 capsules a day. If your diarrhoea lasts longer than 24 hours, consult your doctor. For Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Take 2 capsules to control your symptoms of diarrhoea. One or two further capsules can be taken if needed but no more than 8 should be take in a day. If symptoms persist for longer than 2 weeks, seek medical advice.
