Pio Cesare has harvested grapes for their Moscato from a few select vineyards in the village of Treiso & Madonna di Como for over a hundred years. The vintage date is carefully chosen in order to get the maximum ripening of these grapes, as evident a beautiful rusty gold colour. Harvest usually begins in the last week of Ocotber. Soft pressing followed by slow fermentation at a low temperature & bottling commences in March. The Moscato d' Asti is a sweet wine, rich in fruit scents, soft & alluring. It is a clear, bright glossy gold yellow colour with a ripe fruit & acacia flower bouquet. On the palate, the wine is soft & sweet, but with a definite strength.
