Product Description

A copper ale with a soft malty flavour & gentle hop bitterness, both basic & advanced instructions enclosed. The Brupaks microbrewery series are more than just beer kits, they are 'concentrated brewers' wort'.  Production follows traditional brewhouse procedures using only the finest top quality 2-row malting barley & the choicest hops.  The grist (crushed grains) is 'mashed' with water at 65 degrees centigrade for around one hour to convert the starch into malt sugar.  The resultant liquid (wort) is strained into a boiling vessel where hops are added for bitterness.  After boiling extra hops are added for flavour & aroma.  In a commercial brewery the wort would be cooled rapidly to around 20 degrees centigrade, then transferred to a fermentation vessel where yeast transforms it into beer. As Brupaks worts are to be fermented at home, they first need to be reduced to a convenient size for the home brewery to carry.  To achieve this, the excess liquid is evaporated under vacuum at the lowest possible temperature to preserve delicate flavours, then pasteurised & canned.  To continue the brewing process at home, all that is necessary is to dilute the concentrated wort back to its original density & ferment.  Extra hops/grains are included to restore any aroma lost during evaporation. a.b.v 4.0% to 4.3% Ingredients: Malt extract, hops, yeast
