Care for the Wild International is joining together with world renowned polar bear researchers who are studying the Western Hudson Bay bear population. This population of 1200 bears has been studied for over 30 years & is well known to the researchers with over 80% of the bears having their own nicknames. As part of this programme the research is investigating the bears decline in numbers, decline in body condition as well as the reduced rate of cub production. The researchers then work to provide long term solutions to the problems to help maintain & conserve the polar bear population.
