Chateau de Pampelonne is a magnificent 17th century estate in Ramatuelle near Saint Tropez, a sun-drenched area right in the heart of the French Riviera. The estate has around 50 hectares of vineyards, growing a range of red & white grape varieties. Lovely summery aromas of watermelon, strawberry, raspberry & lily on the nose, while in the mouth it is quite lively, with a burst of minerally refinement alongside mouth-watering peach flavours & hawthorn notes. This is definitely a summer wine, needing to be nicely chilled & ideally sipped on a long, warm evening as the sun slowly sinks. Drink this wine when it's young & fresh & all the delicate, refreshing fruit flavours are at their peak. As a summery wine, it naturally enhances the foods of summer, think nibbles like stuffed green olives & cheese sables, garlicky asparagus & smoked salmon.
