Product Description

Combining a Galileo thermometer with a storm glass barometer, this unique & fully functional dual instrument is a wonderful gift for weather buffs & science enthusiasts. Based on Galileo’s (1564-1642) discovery that fluid density reacts to temperature, the 13" tall glass thermometer contains tagged liquid-filled bulbs that rise & fall to indicate the temperature. Alongside this, the storm glass, regarded as the oldest barometer in the world, forecasts changes in the weather by the level of the liquid in the spout – low indicating fair weather & high the opposite. Supplied with set-up & reading instructions
