    place in January 1967
    where, on the eastern
    side of Coniston Water,
    a group of British car
    enthusiasts gather to

Vampire Haiku
    The haiku journal follows
    our vampire narrator from
    the birth of America all
    the way to present time,
    as he writes sporadically
    through the centuries.
    The playful main
    character has a long
    biography that winds
    through numerous wars, a
    certain tea party in
    Boston, living the high
    life during the Great
    Depression, corrupting
    Emily Dickinson. The
    poems intertwine three
    main elements: being a
    vampire, living during
    the entire history of
    America, and forever
    longing to find and be
    with the woman who turned
    him into a vampire many
    years ago as he crossed
    the Atlantic Ocean on the
    Mayflower.

Ready to Paint Country Landscapes
If you want to learn to
    paint without relying on
    your drawing skills,
    then you will have
    everything you need in
    this book. Terry Harrison
    has painted five
    beautiful country
    scenes, from an open
    gate leading to a farm,
    a country church next to
    a bluebell wood, spring
    blossom reflected in a
    stream, a snow scene and
a bridge over a ford in
    an autumn wood. The
    tracings and clear
    step-by-step photographs

and make it easy for you
    to reproduce all of the
    projects. About the
    Author Terry Harrison

    inspired by a brilliant
    art teacher. He took O
    and A levels in art,
    then won a place at

Making Mechanical Cards

    many books demonstrating
    how to make basic cards,
    but this book goes a
    considerable step further

How to See How to Draw
    This book begins with
    learning how to observe-
    to see whats really
    there, not what you want
    to see. Observation is a
    skill thats learned and
    practiced, and one of
    the hallmarks of
    successful artists is
    that they know how to
    look at a subject with
    clear vision unfettered
    by preconceived notions
    or old habits. Using
    reference photos,
    diagrams, sketches and
    comparative examples,
    the author shows you
    first how to observe an
    object, and second how
    to translate that
    observation into an
    accurate rendering using
    graphite pencils,
    charcoal pencils and pen
    and ink. Review from The
    Artist October
    2010 Claudia Nice has a
    characteristic realistic
    drawing style, which she
    has developed over time
    and has taught in
    workshops,
    demonstrations and
    seminars worldwide. She
    has written over 20 art
    instruction books and
    this book is a thoroughly
    written and
    well-illustrated manual,
    giving valuable advice
    about approaches and
    methods to help you hone
    your drawing skills. The
    book takes readers
    through all the basics,
    such as the importance of
    observation,
    mark-making, materials,
    building up shapes,
    comparing angles and
    proportions,
    perspective and tonal
    values, and through a
    number of demonstrations,
    Claudia explains various
    significant stumbling
    areas, such as how to
    draw symmetrical objects,
    using grids and avoiding
    or correcting mistakes.
    The whole book, in a
    useful ring bound format,
    gives some useful and
    comprehensive
    suggestions, tips and
    instructions to assist
    anyone focusing on
    improving their drawing

    step-by-step course for

    In the climate of 'make

    soared, but many are
    only accompanied by a

    on which fabrics to
    choose and how to cut
    out. The chapters then
    build into a complete
    sewing course, and at
    the end of each chapter
    is a simple project to
    consolidate the skills
    you have just mastered.
    The projects include
    items for the home,
    including a cushion cover
    and a lampshade, stylish
    accessories, such as
    bags and scarves, plus
    great clothing basics,
    such as an A-line skirt
