Europe at 1: 4, 000, 000, on a double-sided road map from the AA, with cartography by Freytag & Berndt, gives an overview of the road networks, features numerous enlargements showing road access to fifteen major cities. On one side the indexed part of the map covers Europe up to the eastern borders of Pol&, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, Macedonia & Greece, although the map itself extends further east to include Belarus, western Ukraine with Kiev, Moldova, Romania & Bulgaria. On the reverse, a similar arrangement covers the Scandinavian countries & the Baltic States, with coverage extending to St, Petersburg & Russia north of it. Motorways are shown with their European & local numbers. European road numbers are given on other connecting main & secondary roads only, where applicable. The base map has faint relief shading & some spot heights to show the topography, & indicates selected national parks. The map has no geographical coordinates. Enlargements show in greater detail road networks around London, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Madrid, Berlin, Munich, Vienna, Rome, Athens, Warsaw & the four Scandinavian capitals.
