Christmas Eve Guests will arrive to a warm Welsh winter afternoon tea. Carol singers will start your evening in the inner hall where you will be served with mulled wine with roasted chestnuts & meet fellow residents before you gather in the Presence Chamber between 7 & 7.30 where the ladies of the court will welcome you & lead you through to your medieval 4-course feast complete with a whole fun-filled evening of entertainment from our singers, dancers, Court Steward & Jester. This is the way to start the Xmas period & get to know & unwind with your fellow guests….make new friends & have fun with old friends & family & Coffee & mince pies are served in the inner hall. Midnight mass for those who wish to attend is at St Peters Church. Enjoy a complimentary mulled wine or hot chocolate with marshmallows by the fireside on your return. Christmas Day Start from 8.00am – 10.00am with a buck’s fizz full Welsh breakfast or a bakery breakfast with fresh mince pies. Enjoy a gentle stroll around the ground or relax in front of the fire for the morning. The Moat Thermal suite will be open from 10am – 6pm, appointments must be made prior to arrival. Guests will arrive for lunch to snow on the front car park & arrival drinks & canapes will be in the inner hall from 11.30am. Chefs traditional Christmas lunch to be served between 12 noon & 3.30pm. Retire to the lounge with your coffee & mince pies to listen to the queen’s speech if you want, or use the afternoon to explore the winter wonderland around Ruthin Castle or spend the afternoon pampering yourself in the thermal suite or hot tubs. If you are still hungry, then between 4pm & 6pm Christmas Cake & tea will be available in the Cornwallis Lounge, Library bar & inner hall. During the evening a celebration buffet will be served whilst our famous Welsh twins sing & play traditional instruments in the background. You can also watch old movies or play board games or just mingle with your new found friends. Boxing Day Widow Twanky will welcome you in the morning for breakfast which will be served from 8.00am – 10am & the day is free to enjoy Ruthin & surrounding area. Tours of the ground will be available for those who wish to enjoy. Bar snacks will be available during the day & Berties will be open with a Sunday lunch type menu. Dinner will be served that evening the Grande Salon with a Panto performance of Dick Whittington during the meal.
