Art Deco fascinates me in its forward-looking effort to push natural features towards abstraction, as here, in a design of delicate radiating ribs, recalling perhaps the spreading veins of leaves, yet regular & formal in execution, with an infill of pink mother of pearl
- perhaps the most limpid of the three dyed variants I use, delicately reflecting a range of subtle light effects. Elegant & opulent, like the era that inspired it.
