This piece in clear crystal pulls in a number of themes. Its inspiration is the world of futurism & art deco (art deco was considered futuristic & its original name was art moderne). The seminal film Metropolis by Fritz Lang is of course alluded to, its futuristic style being influenced by the work of architect Antonio Sant' Ella. Metropolis celebrates the vision of a brave new urbanised world with its love of structure, line & tensile strength that manages to include elements which are purely decorative. Rendered in rhodium plated metal its terraced, linear form is embellished with a window like & thoroughly modernistically proportioned assemblage of Swarovski crystals. It utilises our signature whale tail finding, similar in form to a rigid toggle but with a rear part that swivels to lie flat against the shaft for easy insertion through the shirt cuff. Add a touch of metroplitan sophistication with this celebratory design that looks both forward & back
