Product Description

I grow Sweetcorn ' Sweet Nugget'
- an excellent tried-&-tested, mid-season 'super sweet' variety with a good yield of long, uniform cobs. It's also a very ornamental plant, which looks good with tall, luscious, grass-like leaves, in any part of the garden.

Variety: Sweetcorn ' Sweet Nugget' (Zea mays) Type: Half-Hardy Annual Site: Rich, well-drained soil in a sunny, sheltered spot with lots of organic matter. Sowing: Sow in April under cover in single modules as they do not like root disturbance. Direct sow May-June. Plant out after last frosts (late May) in blocks, not rows, as this helps pollination & kernal formation.
Height:
200cm (6.5 feet) Spacing: 35cm between plants Care tips: Water during hot, dry spells. Harvest: July
- October. Pick when whiskers poking out of the end of the cobs turn brown. Cooking Notes: Eat as quickly as possible after picking for best sweetness. Cook for 10 minutes in boiling water.
