Product Description

Asparagus ' Gijnlim' is famously tasty new hybrid variety. Asparagus is a perennial which should go on cropping well for over a decade, so find these bare root plants somwehere permanent in a sunny & freely drianed spot & they will give you the most wonderful home-grown meals.

Asparagus is the vegetable garden caviar, which tastes so much sweeter & lovlier if very freshly picked. If you have plenty of room in your veg garden, this plant is a must.

Variety: Asparagus ' Gijnlim' Type: Perennial Site: Any moderately, fertile soil in full sun & shelter. Sowing: Plant outdoors in March or April. Full & detailed planting instructions will be sent out with every order.
Height: 90cm (3ft) Spacing: 50cm apart. Care tips: Keep your asparagus bed weeded, & well fertilised. Cut back once they start to die off in the autumn. Harvest: April-May the following year. Cooking Notes: There are so many ways to cook this delicious vegetable
- griddled or steamed, it is ready in 7-8minutes. Or try Sarah's favourite Asparagus & Gruyère Tart.
