Gas is especially quick compared to old style electric rings, & burners are great for more adventurous cooks who want to use woks & other round bottomed pans. You don’t have to be adventurous though – the cooker will handle jacket potatoes & pizza just as well as soufflés & tarte tatin. When you’re not using the hob, you can simply cover it up using the glass lid & use the space for something else. There’s also a special built-in safety feature which means the gas is turned off if the lid is closed or falls down. The gas is also cut off if the flame in the oven is blown out. This model also has a separate oven & grill – perfect if you like to use both at once. The oven has a glass door so you can check if things are ready without letting the heat out, plus a catalytic liner which helps save on cleaning. This clever feature means grease is broken down when cooking at higher temperatures. As a freestanding appliance, this Hotpoint cooker is relatively easy to install & has a stylish finish that’s meant to be seen.
