Product Description

Mr Fothergills Dahlia mignon mixed An enchanting mixture of colourful blooms over neat dwarf plants with rich bright green foliage. These simple blooms each with a bright yellow centre are produced through the summer. Ideal for pots tubs borders & beds. Adored by insects especially butterflies they attract a variety of other pollinators such as bees moths & useful predators such as hoverflies ladybirds lacewings & many more. A half hardy perennial best treated as a half hardy annual flowering the same year. Prefers a well drained soil & sunny position.S: February

- October To grow Dahlia seeds A warm kitchen windowsill is all you need. Sow 0.5cm (1/4") deep in trays of compost. Water well & place in a warm position. A temperature of 15-20c (60-68F) is ideal. Keep moist. Seedlings usually appear in 14-28 days. Transplant seedlings 5cm (2") apart to other trays when large enough to handle. (Always handle leaf never by the stem.) Grow on in cooler but not cold conditions. Gradually accustom young plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts) before planting out 30cm (1') apart when frosts are over. Water plants regularly in dry spells & remove dead flowers to prolong the flowering season. Contains 50 seeds inside!
