Malus domestica ' Howgate Wonder'
Raised in 1915, this is the largest of the cooking apples, producing fruits of enormous size. The current record holder for 'the biggest apple in the world', the large red striped fruits keep their shape when cooked & have a light sub-acid flavour. Heavy cropping. Resistant to mildew. Suitable for the north.
