(1941), having recently arrived in London, Tim Baker (Power) is hoping to impress his girlfriend Carol Brown (Betty Grable) by joining the Royal Air Force. His 'couldn't care' attitude towards the war changes when he has to fly under combat conditions & prove his abilities. ' In Old Chicago' (1937) details the events that led up to the great fire in Chicago towards the end of the 19th century. Including the original theatrical trailer & poster, it was based on the novel by Niven Busch. ' The Razor's Edge' (1946) is an adaptation of Somerset Maugham's famous philosophical novel. Power is the restless aviator Larry Darrell, sickened by the slaughter he has witnessed in WWI. He returns to Chicago questioning the moral values & fibre of his society & refuses to join the social 'creme de la creme' of which his high society fiancee Isabel Bradley (Gene Tierney) is a part. Instead he embarks on a quest to find intellectual & spiritual freedom, travelling to Paris & India, where he finds an elderly Hindu mystic who brings peace to his troubled mind. Ten years later, Larry is reunited with Isabel & his former friends, all of whom have suffered in some way. Finally, ' Second Fiddle' (1939) is a musical, based on the story by George Bradshaw & with music from Irving Berlin, in which a studio publicist (Power) discovers Minnesota skating teacher (Henie) & takes her to Hollywood.
