These Forgefix Torx Pin self-tapping Security Screws are a specialist screw allowing tightening & release with the unique Torx insert bit. They offer a specialist security fixing in areas where a conventional screw would be used. Their countersunk heads are designed to sink flush with substrates to leave a smooth surface finish. The screws are made from stainless steel for increased resistance to corrosion. APPLICATION: Can be used securing ironmongery applications that are left to open access, such as padbolts & T-hinges. Also ideal to be used in public sanitary applications for securing toilet roll holders & similar fixtures. Stainless Steel does not corrode, rust or stain with water as ordinary steel does, but despite the name it is not fully stain-proof, most notably under low oxygen, high salinity, or poor circulation environments. Stainless steel is used where both the properties of steel & resistance to corrosion are required. The Torx Pin head is based on the Torx head design but has a pin in the centre. This means that the insert bit used for tightening has a female insert offering both increased torque & security. Self-tapping thread screws have a perfectly designed thread pitch which self-threads into a pre-drilled pilot hole.
