Product Description

A beacon of modern achievement, The Flying Scotsman represents a Golden Age of British ingenuity & evokes glamour, elegance & romance of the Art Deco period. The locomotive was acquired by the National Railway Museum in 2004 & forms part of the National Collection.

In 1928, Flying Scotsman was the first steam locomotive to travel non-stop from London to Edinburgh, & the first to break the 100mph speed barrier.

The engine & its exhibition, The Flying Scotsman story, provide a unique reflection of our social & cultural heritage offering both Museum visitors & travellers an unrivalled opportunity to experience the power & the passion of a legendary locomotive.
