Product Description

Driving Miss Daisy at The Wyndham's Theatre, London Starring Vanessa Redgrave & James Earl Jones Vanessa Redgrave plays Atlanta widower Miss Daisy in this all-star version of Alfred Uhry’s endearing play. Set in Atlanta, Georgia, in the mid-twentieth century, Driving Miss Daisy tells the story of an unlikely friendship between a white Jewish woman & her black chauffeur. When Miss Daisy’s son Boolie decides she is unfit to drive, he hires a chauffeur to keep his mother on the road. The driver, Hoke Coleburn, played by James Earl Jones, is African American, which causes the deeply conservative Miss Daisy some misgivings. However, what begins as a troubled pairing soon blossoms into a life-changing friendship. The 1989 film, starring Morgan Freeman & Jessica Tandy, won four Oscars including Best Picture.
