When Miss Daisy’s son Boolie decides she is unfit to drive, he hires a chauffeur to keep his mother on the road. The driver, Hoke Coleburn, played by James Earl Jones, is African American, which causes the deeply conservative Miss Daisy some misgivings. However, what begins as a troubled pairing soon blossoms into a life-changing friendship. The 1989 film, starring Morgan Freeman & Jessica Tandy, won four Oscars including Best Picture.
