The Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House, London A Magical Christmas Present The Nutcracker is always a seasonal favourite & this stunning production draws on all the imagination & fantasy of E.T.A. Hoffman’s delightful story of Christmas Eve. Tchaikovsky’s music is some of the most instantly memorable in all ballet, with a wealth of famous melodies, conducted by Barry Wordsworth, Music Director of The Royal Ballet, & Dominic Grier. On Christmas Eve, at the house of Herr & Frau Silberhaus, family & friends are gathered to decorate the Christmas tree. Soon the festivities begin & more guests arrive, including a talented toymaker who has brought some special gifts for the children
- four lifelike dolls & a wooden nutcracker carved into the shape of a man. Later, a young girl creeps downstairs for her present & finds herself at the start of a magical adventure.
