Poppy Cottage is a lovely, recently refurbished cottage, that was once part of an old school. The cottage, set within a beautiful pocket of the Cotswolds, has spacious, welcoming accommodation. Internally, the property offers high quality, characterful features including high ceilings & exposed walls to make the cottage unique. Outside there is a secluded sitting area. Locally, there is The Wychwood Golf Club, which has a Freehouse serving good food all day to both players & non-players. (*below.) Outside, there are lovely views across the countryside & village & a secluded sitting area. A truly wonderful part of the Cotswolds! (NB. A recent guest commented on the fact that this was possibly 'amongst the best of holiday cottages' they have stayed in the past 20 years!!!)ACCOMMODATIONDoor leading to open plan Kitchen / Dining / Living room, with views to village. Kitchen with gas hob & electric oven, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave. Dining table. Living area, large comfortable sofas, electric wood burner effect heater, TV & DVD. Upstairs: Bedroom One, king size bed, pine wardrobe & chest of drawers plus views to village, with ensuite bathroom with shower, WC & washbasin. Central heating & electricity included all year round. Ample Parking. Washer/dryer facilities on site. Please No Pets. No Smokers. Please No children under 10. Min 4 night stay. Any day changeover considered. Lyneham is well located for visiting all Cotswold attractions & villages including Burford, Stow on the Wold and Blenheim Palace at Woodstock. * Although the village does not have a pub, there is a friendly golf club Approx. a 10 min walk away which welcomes non playing guests for food & drinks. Described as 'a well groomed course that challenges the best golfers.... it has a lovely clubhouse with breathtaking views of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds.' We say it's well worth a visit! (01993 831 841 closes at dusk in Winter months.) The popular towns of Stratford upon Avon & Oxford are also within easy driving distance. (Kingham station is approx. 2 miles away, with trains to Oxford, London, Hereford & Worcester.)
