Rarely seen in the UK as a varietal wine, Xarel-Lo is more commonly found as a constituent of cava & other Catalan blends. This example has been fermented & matured in chestnut barrels, produced locally to the winery from wood cut from the Monseny forest. Intense golden yellow. The nose is unendingly complex, combining tropical fruits with ripe apple, subtle balsamic nuances, vanilla & an intriguing nuttiness. Smooth, fresh & lingering on the finish. Pair with poultry or fish cooked in creamy mushroom sauces.
